Day Nine

Inspiring Person

(Also, I know. Super creepy. Whatever. It's what I do.)
This is Sister Applonie, the director of BYU's Women's Chorus. I spend about 5 hours a week with her and approximately 169 other girls. She is so amazing. Every day she has this energy that seems impossible for anyone, and it is so contagious. I leave choir every day feeling more energized than when I came in. Her ability to bring the Spirit into class every day is greatly appreciated. She has so much wisdom that she loves to share and that, too, is greatly appreciated. She teaches us every day--musically, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. And she's hilarious. Which is awesome. The other day, before her audition for the MoTab (um, yeah, she's way cool.) she was telling us that everyone, herself included, gets scared. She said "Everyone gets scared! And everyone has their own ways to deal with it. Some do drugs." Anywho, she cracks me up. And I'm super grateful for her.

Day Eight

Favorite Color

(Okay, so I'm a little behind. But still grateful.)

I guess my favorite color is yellow. There isn't a ton of yellow, besides the lights on campus. That counts. I do love the lighting in this picture I took coming out of the WILK one night after hours of studying/pinteresting. (C'mon, we all know that I have the attention span of a cocker spaniel.) I am grateful for sunsets. Probably my favorite time of day. And lights on campus. So I don't have to be completely freaked out to walk home at 7pm.....thank you daylights savings for not coming for another month. IM GRATEFUL :)

OH. And check out my current youtube teeny-bopper jam. Enjoy.

Miracle

That terrible moment when you are in desperate need to do laundry and severely out of quarters.

And then it gets really awesome when you remember that two months ago, your super duper awesome mom packed a wad of quarters in your carry-on stowed under your bed. It's the simple things, folks.

Blessed

I am too blessed. About a year ago, I would have mistaken all these blessings for trials. For merely having to make decisions between these blessings. Now, while at times I do feel kind of overwhelmed, it is mostly because these choices are all too good. They all require hard work, but that is something that I have learned to do more and more of recently. For that I am extremely grateful.

With President Monson's announcement of lowering the age of missionaries, another potential blessing has presented itself to me. I've planned on serving a mission since I was 16, but even this past Saturday morning at 10:00 am I thought I had another year and a half before submitting my papers to serve a mission. As of 10:15 am on Saturday, my mind has been racing a mile a minute thinking of all the possibilities the Lord has given me.

I am blessed to have a Heavenly Father who is completely aware of His children and what they need.
I am blessed to have a Savior who understands me and loves me, and has given me a way to become like him.
I am blessed with a knowledge that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the true gospel on the earth, and that the prophet Joseph Smith restored it through the keys of the priesthood.
I am blessed with parents who have given me everything because they have testimonies of the gospel and are obedient to God.
I am blessed with siblings who are stellar examples of disciples of Jesus Christ, for that I am grateful.
I am blessed to have a testimony of prayer and the faith to know that Heavenly Father is waiting for me to reach out to Him with my thoughts and worries and excitements.
I am so excited for the coming year, I can hardly stand it.
